guess i got lucky......

well, i got an alignment today at cj's tires, consiquentially they stripped my wheel lock completley smooth. so, they went to the dealer and bought brand new ones at no cost to me. i was gonna replace them soon anyway but hesitated because of what the dealer told me on price, 39.00 plus tax. well, i get a freebee for once and the timing was perfect, i'm leaving to go on vacation on saturday and money is all seperated out, ie, gas, tolls, spending money. yeehaa.....

wow, great! When discount Tire forgot to reinstall my hubcentric ring, and my wheel cracked, the best they would do for me was 50% discount off their price for a new wheel. (

No spacer. Just the hubcentric adaptor ring that nearly all aftermarket wheels require. Our hubs are smaller than Hondas and some other cars, so they require little "rings". I tried to get them to pay for a new wheel, but even after talking w/corporate, they would only cover 50%. I'm glad the manager @ your tire store did the right thing and put the customer first.

Damn, some idiot mechanic does that and they're paying for ALL the damages... Discount Tire or Joe Blow Mechanic.... That kind of crap annoys me.

^^^^Agreed^^^^^

How about because you forgot your checkbook, you only pay 50% of the change in your car?

Clearly in this example, it's your fault and yet you expect them to take your 50%......

That makes about as much sense as what they expect you to do.

Now that I think about it, I shoulda had my attorney talk to them. It's funny cuz I remember to use my prepaid legal for small things, like trying to get a refund @ Target or BS moving violation ticket, but I forget it on big things like this. Grrr.

You are not alone with Discount tire, they stripped my wheel bolt stud two of them cuz dumbass tire tech using impact wrench when they did not screw in the nut first before putting the wrench on but noooooooo. they just stuck the nut on the impact and then drill it on, I was pissed when I discovered the two of the stud is stripped when I was trying to remove the tire to get to the oil filter.

Good thing they covered it, by doing this they hope that you would come back again. (I doubt you would though)

taking all rims in for resufacing minus the 1 they screwed up, 198.50 to make them look new again. much cheaper than a new set of rims!!!
