DA = Density Altitude

It's a good measure of how much the weather is effecting your track times. If you are running 1000' DA, the it's much worse than running with -500 ft DA.

www.wunderground.com is a good source to look up weather history in order to calculate DA.

And here is a good source to calcuate DA once you have your track's actual elevation, temp, humidity, and barometric pressure for that minute of the day you were racing:

it had drag tires, and it is the GT V8

we both trapped at 99mph, so basically i should have been 13.8 or 13.9 NOT 14.2

this is not true. an STI trapping 99 could be running 13.5, while a max trapping 99 would be more around a 14. gear ratio's, driveline losses, power, launch...all affect the ET and trap. many believe that a higher trap doesnt mean the best ET. since with a better launch you are further down the track with the same speed, you wont trap as high but will get a better ET. since the mustang is RWD, it can launch harder and therefore run faster on a given MPH than you do if you arent launching as hard.

my PB ET is at 99.47, but my best mph is on a .2 slower 60' and is 1 mph faster. if you really think that every setup runs the same time at the same mph, youre nuts. every car is different. comparing your car to a car with another setup doesnt mean much at all. ill refer back the the example: an STI can launch a TON harder than your max, but when trapping 99 they might be running a 13.5. for your car to run 13.5, you would be trapping more along the lines of 106. the point? comparing RWD to FWD FTL

this has nothing to do with an sti, i dont give a flyin **** about an sti. i was simply making a statment that compared to my times in the past(my PB) and this run(exact same setup both times) i should have been in the high 13's!!!

so my 14.4 @ 100.96 should have been a 13 since i ran 14.001 @ 99.47?

if you did not change anythin in your setup other than maybe your launch. it also depends on the track and weather, if you did those runs at the same track in the exact(never happen) same weather conditions, then THEORETICALLY YES!!!

WTF? I guess besides the fact there are no GT emblems and a lot of V6 Mustangs have aftermarket dual exhaust, and the fact that he had V6 rims on the back, and the fact there were no foglights in the grill...yeah, I would say it looks like a V6...LOL

the op even said it was a GT. go back and read everything that was said. just because there are some v6's with swapped in dual exhaust you assume all with dual exhaust are v6's? one would think that when a car runs 2sec faster than its v6 version, the duals MIGHT not be v6 aftermarket

PS: the vid is blurry, but look closely, GT emblems present.

Ever think the V6 wheels were his stock ones that he put back on for the track...and yes...all the '05 up GT's came with the foglights in the grill...only cars like the Saleens and stuff don't have them so sorry by I am not "owned" on Maxima.org. I think the both of you need to STOP reading magazines and go educate yourselfs in the real world...OOOHH BURN!!! You are so lame...get a life LOL

since pimpin is being retarded, i though i would include a list of things that point each direction

GT:
1) gt emblems
2) gt front wheels
3) dual exhaust
4) 13.8 ET and 99 mph trap

V6:
1) rear v6 wheels
2) no fog lights

so the verdict? 4-2 GT wins! i feel very educated now, anybody else?

OMG...you guys are actually calling me ricers...I believe that the car is a GT it's just that there were signs that pointed to a V6...also just b/c a car has GT emblems and dual exhaust doesn't make it a GT that's what I'm saying...if I put Cobra emblems on a V6 that doesn't make it a Cobra. Also I would be dissapointed if your car didn't run a faster time then mine considering that you have more mods on the same car. You guys are the definition of a ricer, and I think it's sad that you have resorted to picking on your own kind (Maxima owner). I mean if you look up earlier in the thread you are attacking the OP...now you are attacking me...
