nearly escaped death or serious injuries..(waring; Pic of car is really bad)

ok so i was heading to Austin on Highway 21 from college station, listening to some pink floyd, minding my own business, and everything was perfect until this one turn came. I was going 60 in 65 limit zone(so under speed limit), it was raining, a little more like sprinkling, but there was a puddle of water which i couldn't see but it was there. So while going in turn i went right over the puddle, i couldn't even see since it was a turn, I started to hydroplane and lost complete control of the car and it hit a tree which popped the front airbags which FLIPPED the car over, then the car skidded into another tree which caused the side airbags to deploy. So basically the top, the passenger side and, the front of car was completely crushed. I was conscious the whole time expect for one second when the car flipped over I didn't pass out but my brain wasn't functioning right i guess. Although, i do remember seeing what was happening during that time. Ok so anyways, when the car came to a complete stop I was upside down and i ended up in the back seat on the passenger side. So i was thrown back from the driver seat to the passenger seat in the back. I had my seat belt still on while i was in the back seat. I was the only one in the car. Call it a miracle, i only came out with three minor scratches on my left arm. Thank god, i had no broken bones, no bruises, or anything serious. so i crawled out of the back seat window(behind driver's seat) since that was the only place which was not crushed down all the way. good thing there was no on coming traffic at the time or someone else would have seriously been heard. heres a picture of the car, landed on the on coming side of the traffic. People came out of their cars quickly to help me and they were shocked to just see me walking like nothing had happened. I have full coverage on the car so lets see what happens, thought i'd share this with you guys.

Oh maan! Good to see you walked away from this. That puddle must have been pretty big or long. I know what it's like to total a Maxima and walk away from it. It happened to me in '02.

Big question is: What type of tires were you riding on? How was the tread life? I totalled my '02 Max on stock tires and they tended to hydro plane easy.

Stock tires ( the good year AS-2 or whatever they are) in good condition.

The stock tires that come on the 6th Gen are horrible! I couldn't wait to get rid of those. I hate to say it but that explains it. No way you shoulda lost control going 60mph even on a turn. Not to the point where you're off the road.

Dibs on front left mud guard!

Glad you're okay. Like Kam said, how did you ended up in the back seat with the belt on? When did this happen?

Wow, thank sweet Jesus you're ok. That's just nuts.

Our stock tires aren't great for water AT ALL. Unfortunatley this did you no good now. I am sorry this happened, how scary this must have been.

Your brain going on auto-pilot was probably shock kicking in. Maybe it was like being stunned?!?!

Getting another one? Did you have gap insurance?

As always, let us know how this ends.

Glad you're okay. Good luck with the insurance company. No matter what they tell you, how much money you can get for your car IS negotiable.

Good to hear your doing alright, can't really speak much for how you ended up in the back seat but I've heard and read that seat belts don't hold you in the seat in roll overs, that spinning forces slides you right out of the belt, hence why race car drivers have 5 points harnesses, it's to strap them into the seat in case of a rollover, Deus has a 5 point for when he tracks his car he should know more about it.

Anyways if you get a chance snap some picks of the car when right side up, kinda wanna see what the roof looks like.

Good luck with everything

I love how people thank god, but if he were to die it wouldn't be gods fault. He would be going to "heaven". Love how there is always an explanation in gods favor.

Like I said bro, glad your ok.

Jeremiah 29:11, why not thank Him for the safety of another person. Why not give Him credit? May God receive the glory, that this gentleman is safe and with us today?

Where are you from? Ever since I moved down south from Philly all I hear is thank the lord for this and that. He got lucky, could have easily been killed and another statistic. Be glad for each day and don't take anything for granted. Gosh not everything has to have an explanation.

Its amazing how life can change in a few seconds...

I've had something similar happen to me a while back and it changed my perspective on life a bit. Anyhow... I wish you a speedy and healthy recovery even it its just minor cuts and bruises. As far as you car, stay on top of your insurance companies *** because they are always looking to cut cost in their favor.

SickSE,

I'm originally from SoCal. I moved to the SouthEast 10 years ago.

I have an unrelenting faith. I do believe in God.
I agree that not everything will have an immediate explanation. The outcome may not be understood for years, if even then. It isn't my goal to explain away everything, but it is to give credit where credit is due. I truely believe that he was incredibly blessed to have walked from this wreck.

By the way, and you may already know this, the SouthEast is the BibleBelt of the US.

If you aren't religious, it might be time to find religion. This may have been a sign.

Regardless, I've seen people carted off in bags for much less. You're 1 lucky dude!

Yea, must be a sign, explanation, "supposed to happen". I know, I hear it everyday in NC. Believing this is all nice and comforting but wait until something tragic happens. My gf is highly religious and last year she had been praying for her mom to recover from cancer. Gee gosh the cancer went away and all the "miracle" was attributed to god. Isn't that wonderful. A month later the cancer came back and she died within 2 weeks. I don't really hear about how everything happens for a reason from her anymore.
