okay, i need to vent because i'm still mad about a discussion that i had last nite.....after what happened, i realized again why i don't have many chic friends - some girls are so stupid, seriously. this girl has a v6 camaro (3.8L), and i used to have one that i did some modding to - nothing serious, just intake, exhaust, chip, shift kit (it was an auto which sucked), but anyway....she was sittin there trying to tell me that her almost-stock camaro - all she had was a muffler - ran a 15.0 at the track with 18" chrome rims. Mine ran a 15.2 at 90mph, so i know she's full of it. i asked her what her trap speed was - she didn't know....so i asked what her 60' was - didn't know that either. i called her out on it and said, "i KNOW yours isn't faster than mine, it's impossible. plus, u don't even know your trap speed or 60' or anything....i'm sure you meant to say you ran a 16.0???" stupid girls that think they know about cars. seriously.

 

oh, p.s. - i have an 02 max that would WORK her now, plus an 06 cbr 1000rr. i wanna take her to the track and see what her car REALLY runs....15.0 my ***.....

I once had a chick in a honda delsol with a rice can and ugly red wheels tell me her car would smoke me. She wasnt hot so obviously i blew the doors off her and left it at that. Actually come to think about it now, i think a chick in a 525 or 535 cant remember did something along the lines of that too. she was hot too. i guess she wasnt interested though lol.

I say run the car to get a baseline than you will have an idea when you start putting mods on it.

And you should challenge that girl. Try getting a video of it.

 

So its a 2002. auto or 6spd? Best power mod for the 3.5 is headers. If i were in your position, id do intake, headers + tune, catback, safc2/vafc2. Catback is not needed, you can go with an aftermarket b-pipe and keep the stock muffler if you want to keep it on the quiet side. If you are auto those mods should knock you up to the 230WHP range, if you need more power, then SSIM and the larger MAF(bosch v8 maf). This is assuming everything is running properly.

NmexMax will probably chime in, he is very knowledgable on modding the 5.5gen.

At that point, you will start to have traction issues, so better tires, or better yet, get rid of the stock boat anchors(assuming your fully stock), and get some lightweight 17's or 18's.

As you can see it can go on and on...now i realize where all my money goes

On the topic of racing her, i think you should, own her bad, record it, then send it to her by email so she can watch her camaro get smoked by a 4dr sedan

 

give her a 3car start and video tape it so that we can get a good front and back look.

unnnnnfortunately it's an auto - couldn't find the 6-speed at any dealerships around here cuz i needed to finance it ohhhhh trust me, i have a pretty extensive list of mods i'd like to do, just gotta take care of other crappy bills first! thanks for the suggestions! i definitely want to start with an intake, been looking online and reading about a few different ones, they're actually not as expensive as i thought so maybe within this month i can put aside some car-mod money and buy myself a present

Yep intakes are pretty inexpensive..aslong as you stay away from injen. Please do not buy the injen lol.. Now im not sure if 5.5gens are the same as 4th gens, but i know the best setup for a mildly modded na 4th gen is a pop charger, the stock intake resonator helps mid range tq.

I had the injen on both my 4th and 5.5 gen..and honestly it made both my car slower. good thing i got a hell of a price on them or i might have actually been pissed lol..i converted both to a short ram setup, using only the maf adapter and stock intake before hte maf, and it felt much better! I now have a jwt pop charger on my 4th gen and it never felt that good. The sound you get from an intake on both the vq30 and vq35 is just addicting, now in hindsight you should get better gas mileage with an intake, anything that helps it breathe easier..but everytime you turn a corner or take off, your going to want to bury the pedal to hear that sound

Id look at the frankencar intake or berk if you can find one. Or alternativley MAF adapter and a cone filter.

as for 1/4 mi times, i ran completly stock 14.6 with a 2.1 60'(last year), back in july i ran 14.06 with a 2.006 60'(mod list below) and my car is automaGic...good luck with ur car, and please beat that sorry excuse for a female down and provide footage?!?!?!
