One of the local DC Maxima owners brought his Maxima in for service this past weekend. He had a few things done, but one item wasn't covered under warranty. They told him the squeaks and rattles are only covered for the first 12,000 miles. Is that true? The TSB doesn't state the coverage length or period.

 

I have always hear that it's covered under 3/36 (or 3/60KM), I think there were some posts 3 or 4 months ago.

 

rattles are covered for 3 year 36k miles as far as I know.....

nah...the rattles should be convered under the standard warranty, 3 years/36,000miles, whichever occurs first.

 

Rattles are only covered for the first 12000 miles because it's considered an "adjustment", not defect, which would be covered under the 36K warrantee.

 

Yep exactly. Dealer has responsibility to repair rattles for free only during the adjustment period. After that, you better hope you have a generous dealer (which for Nissan, would be an oxymoron).
