Frankly it looks like a blob...the only thing that looks good is the interior...

umm... let's see if I can find the right words. Hideous, bulbous, just plain fugly... those will work. It has a chance with some real good bumper replacements.

whats up with the headlights...

all these new cars seem to have these headlights that are huge, and reach farther back towards the windshield...

and i always thought the ES was ugly, so wasnt expecting much here =X

and its funny how everyone on that board loves the 'new' look =X

Uh, looks like the I35 from the front and the E320 from Mercedes in the back. Personally, I like the current one better.

Fugly. The ES300 was an attractive car, even if it was just a luxo Camry. The whole time I was looking at these pics I thought it was the new GS300 -- it wasn't till I came back to this topic that I realized you said ES300.

Hideous!

They really killed the ES...it was a handsome car, now it looks odd. Those headlights don't go at all with the rear. The interior is the only improvement in my mind. I think Toyota dropped the ball with the new Camry and this car....the styling is hard to swallow.

Actually, I like it. It is conservative yet stylish at the same time. Typical Toyota/Lexus. The headlights are like the LS430, the rear is similar to some degree as well. Sort of like a smaller scale LS430. And I love the three spoke steering wheel.

Too bad it will still be only 3.0L V6.

Well..I like the profile, crisp body creases with a smooth silhouette. The interior as I said before I like...but the front is too blobby, looks lopsided in the front 3/4 pic. It could also use some bigger wheels...

It is typical current Lexus, but I personally liked the old Lexus styling. I prefer more of the knife-edge stling cues like the previous LS or the IS. I wish Lexus could have recaptured the stunning success of the original SC. That was easily the best-looking car they've ever made.

Man, that thing is ugly. It's some sort of mutant 4-door Solara(which has very bland styling) If you see the pics from that family car source, it's really clear that the conserative syling of Toyota/Lexus is really shining though. This car absolutely does not inspire me at all. At least the maxima is aggresive and thought provoking. I know Toyota/Lexus doesn't want to **** off their loyal buyer base but for me, their conserative styling is too generic and bland. I like the LS430 BUT only becuase it take some of the styling cues from Mercedes(which it has done from day one) I guess when they have nothing to copy, they go 100% bland on you.

One exception would be the Celica. It's actually more aggresively styled than the new Acura RSX.

I think Toyota/Lexus is trying to move away from their conservative image more than Honda/Acura. They also have the Echo, I'm probably the only person here that would say this but I like it. Its funkalicious lol. Toyota will be bringing their Will car over soon and that is definetly not bland. The new SC430 doesnt look bland either. I thought the Avalon wasn't too generic looking either.

Honda is just plain bland, the only car that looks good is the S2000, Acura I think is more clean/classy than bland.

The SC430 convertible is nice but it's still bland compared to the BMW M coupe and Roadster and it's less interesting than the Mercedes convertibles. My dad has the older Avalon. Not very interesting. The new one is better. It's interesing and has some interesting angles but the wife doesn't like it. On that note, we are looking for a Lexue es300 or tl. Go figure!

I would choose a TL over this new ES any day. The TL is far better looking with a more powerful engine. I even like the interior styling of the TL better. Add Comptech springs and exhaust and it's just about perfect. Er... did I say that about something other than a Maxima? *GASP*
