Motor Swap Update, Day 4
Update Saturday 8/4/01
Sinwave and I got old motor/tranney is out and the new motor/tranney is in. We did have to split the tranney and motor, but it wasn't that hard. The traney went out under the car and the motor was hoisted out. All in all it was laborus but not an overwelming day. We did have a problem with the SC belt wich required two trips to Pepboys for a smaller one. And the passanger side motor mount bolt wouldnt go in because of the SC and the fender well. So the fender well got a beating and the bolt went right in. We swapped over the AC and PS pumps to the new motor also. We left it the motor is hanging by the left and right mounts. The Drive shafts are back on and allot of the hoses and lines are hooked up. With some hard work and a little luck we should be able to fire it up by tomorrow night!

Jeff, thanks for the broob handle tip. We got it in with very little trouble. It stabed in easy enough with a little bench press action
The Center Force DF disc has under 600 miles on it, The fly wheel was resurfaced when it was lightned then also. The pressure plate has a few more miles on it. Dam I forgot about the T/O bearing, dam! At least I did the output shaft seals.
Thanks for all the encougagment guys, its freakin hot outside and I'm beat, IT WILL BE DONE!

good work mardigras. keep on going and you'll have one fast car. good job on swapping out the engine too, it's a hard job. i'm actually thinking about helping my friend rebuild or swap his engine. He had a little run in with some railroad tracks and his oil pan and decided to drive like that for 54 miles. well when i pulled off his oil pan to replace it there was a present in there. a connecting rod, hehe. i laughed so hard because i heard a clank before it was even off and told him that's what it was and well it was.
