Am I correct in assuming our stock rotors are not stainless steel?

I'm wondering why the face of the rotor is nice & shiny .. except after a wash ... but the outer edge of the rotors are all rusted ... if it's a one piece rotor .. shouldn't it be all made of the same material throughout & rust or not rust consistently?

I hate the rust!!! I look at these new Beemers (yes they cost more) & am envious of how shiny the rotors ALWAYS look!

Cheston ... how's that big brake upgrade kit coming along?

The material is most definitely all the same. The shiny part is due to the brake sweep keeping it clean! You can buy better rotors.
