Of course it was inevitable but I was hoping it would be awhile longer. Wishful thinking on my part with the crappy
Nissan paint. Oh well.

All I have to say is that don't use touch up paint to try and fix it, I tried and it just got worse (maybe I just suck at it). Doh!

You want paint chips? I got paint chips!

A cement truck was in front of me on the highway and it hit a bump in the road and dropped about 10 pounds of debris from it's cement funnel. That's rocks and concrete mixture and dust, all flying at my Maxima at 50MPH. Needless to say, I've got about 500 paint chips on my front bumper, hood, side panels, and even the roof. It also scratched up my headlights and windshield. I'm getting it all repainted, so hopefully the new paint will be more scratch-resistant than Nissan stock paint.

My experience, I got 3 or 4 chips right away - first 2 weeks. Now 15 months later and not one more chip.
One of two things at work here.
1)the paint is not fully hardened and cured at delivery.
or
2)the Diamond Brite paint sealant I use has saved the paint from chips.
Don't know which, but the chipping has virtually stopped.
Not selling here, but if interested 1-800-334-8388 for the Diamond Brite. About $20 for 20 oz. enough for 4-5 cars.

Recently sold an 89 SE which looked 3 years old due to the Diamond Brite. Also got $6,500 for a car which blue booked at $4,500.

There is nothing worse than getting a new car and then get rock chips in it. I bought a Covercraft bra for it (just use the hood section though), and it seems to really help!!

HA! I'm such a good driver, I can spot and avoid any debris that flies toward the hood. Rocks, dust, insects, they all bend to my will. You should see me brush other cars around in that effort! But seriously, I've been lucky up until this point.
