They both drop about the same height. So, if you want handling at the expense of a stiff ride, get Eibachs. If you want a better ride but slightly worse handling at the limit get H&Rs.

My opinion mirror's Weasel's exactly...I like my H&R's for the ride as I dropped it a bit but retained the "wifey comfort level" and only sometimes wish I had a lower drop but most times I am fully happy with the H&R's

I got my H&R's with the sole purpose of killing some of that nasty wheel gap, and they accomplished that nicely. It gives the car a sporty look without diminishing the ride quality.

H&R's

I've had both sets of springs on my car before, and I decided to stay with the H&R's because they both actually handle the same under extreme driving and at the limits, but the H&R's are more comfy at a normaly driving level because they are wound more progressively than the eibachs. A bit cheaper too, so I'd say definitely go with the H&R's, you won't be disappointed. Throw in all the bars FSTB, RSTB, RSB while you are at it too, and your car will outhandle a lot of stock sports cars for sure.

If you want to become a regular patient of the chiropractor get the Eibachs(not that harsh, hehe) If you want the near stock ride, get the H&Rs. I am going with them when I can decide on which struts to get. I drove BarryNYC's car and it rode great and was nice and tight.

Best of luck,
Jason

yeap, that is exactly right, "both actually handle the same under extreme driving" the reason for that is because of H&R's are progressively wound, so the harder you push them, the stiffer they become trust me on this one, it works

sprints!

i bought the sprint springs 2inch drop all the way around.......(front and back) the ride is a lil stiff but i wanted to get the biggest drop possible so my car is slammed....the sprints still leave a gap inbetween the tire and the body of the car and i want a lower drop so my only other choice is to cut the stock springs.............the sprints looks nice and sporty but i want my maxima way way lower but if u want a nice ride DONT by the sprint......although once u get use to it its not that bad......

Are stock shocks with H&Rs okay?

I was wondering about that, because I know the stock shocks won't last with Eibachs. But since the ride with H&Rs are softer, does anyone think that the OEM shocks can handle them?

If not, I've got some more saving to do. And I might go for the KYB GR-2s.

i have H&R/tokico/Stillen fstb, rsb,Z rated tires on my max. Let me tell you i have taken 15mph turns at 50mph(no joke!) and the car easily manuvers around them. They are not as low as i would have liked, but i still have a fairly decent ride when cruising.

get the apex springs. they won't leave a big gap like the h&r's do and they won't be as harsh as the eibach's. i have them on my car and they look great but they perform almost like the eibach's. stay away from sprint and intrax they are very harsh but they give you a lower drop.

All of them will get rid of wheel gap. Just depends on how much wheel gap you want gone.

to get rid of the wheel gap you need coil-overs or better yet get air-bags.

To represent the Eibach group...

I have Eibach springs. I love them. They aren't all the harsh of a ride to me, but then I don't have a comparison against the H&R, I've never riden in a Maxima with them. The Eibach's ride fine...when I had the stock struts/shocks with them. I just put on a set of Koni's last weekend, and the ride got much stiffer. The Koni's are adjustable, and when I put them on a softer setting, it makes the ride much better. I went with Eibach because I got them for $150 new. I like what I have.

i have the H&R/Tokico and it is a very nice ride quality for a lowered car..... other people that ride in it say.... man this thing is stiff....i dont think it is b/c i have ridden in a max with Sprints. Anyways no matter what you get it takes the wheel well gap away. The sprints leave about 2 fingers left in the front and the h&rs leave about 3.5 fingers... but the h&rs are lower in the back than the sprints IMO. TO show you the H&r drop ... this is my car before lowering
