rear speaker de instillation advice?
Having inherrited a 92 gxe my only modification has been to dirty the interior.
What does bother me is the fuzzy sound that comes from the rear "active speakers"
I t is not obvious to me how to remove these worn puppies. Do the deck speaker enclosures just pry off?
Need some advice on how this is done before I mangle the grills and rear deck. Also would like some suggestion as to what size replacement speakers are appropriate for these holes. Not really interested in 12 inch bass drivers but would ovals be appropriate. Will probably stick with the amp that is present [45watts ] in the trunk. thanks for your attention.

remove the back seat, then the rear deck will come off with the grilles.. attached by a punch of push-tabs.
thestock speakers back there are 6.5", but you can fit 6x9 back there if you remove the stock grilles and mount the 6x9 from the top ofthe rear deck. just be sure to put something between the rear deck cover and the metal to keep rattles and stuff away.
instructions for some of that stuff is on my website faq page.

for their interest in my problem and their good advice on my rear speaker removal. special thanks to Matt93SE for his faq , After the speakers I will attempt to redo/replace the rear window regulators the only other thing that has gone wrong with my 92 [only has 54k miles] both went within 2 weeks of each other,

it's pretty easy and shouldn't take you too long so I'd give it a try if you're at all mechanically inclined
