just happened a few mins ago, when i got home from school. i was going downhill in traffic with my foot on the brakes. when i left off the brakes and let the car roll down, i get a weird sort of whine, like something is rubbing together. all i know is that its from the front, not sure which side. it would hum/whine abd i would feel a slight vibration. i have a 5spd and this is the first time its happened. any ideas? thanks

Sounds like it could be a wheel bearing, that's what mine sounded like. What speed do you hear this noise at?

it happens wehn rolling from a fully sopped posision, rolling at like 2 inches a second. extremely slow. then once i put it in gear and start going, to goes away right away.

Maybee it doesn't go away, maybee you cant hear it over the engine noise. I have a wining sound in my right side that I hear when in neutral.
