I have two question to ask

1) where are you guys/gals installing your component
tweeters on the 4th Gen? on the door, dash or, the
plastic trianle by the side view mirror?

2) I will be installing a new HU, I don't have the $ yet to
ungrade the whole system. later I want to ad an amp and
subs to the system. Question, when installing the new HU
should I run the RCA cables for the amps at this time,
not attatching it to anything? or, should I NOT be lazy
and remove the center console again when I do install
the amp? Will leaving the cables unattatched cause a
problem?

I'm in the same boat as you with the head unit. What I did is when I installed mine, I ran all the wires from it: 2 sets of RCA's and the remote cable (dont forget that). That way I can just throw everything in without having to disassemble the dash again. The tweeters I'm probably going to put in the same location as the stock ones in the SE's and GLE's. Hope this helps.

I have a GXE, it doesn't come with the separate tweeters

My tweets are in kickpanels. So none of the above choices applies.

I have a GXE also. I will make holes in the same place as the stock tweeters come in.

Me too GXE. I'll probably install them in the mirroe triangle plastics. The only reason is in case I screw it up, it will not cost much to get another piece.

just a tip, keep the tweeters closer to the larger speakers or else you will get some separation and they will not sound as good

Rockford says ideally they should be within 2", but if not then they should be further than 7".

So, the triangle plastic piece by the sideview mirrors will be to far?

No, the sail is FURTHER than 7". So it meets the recommendation.
