She could have had a free Lexus, but she bought a Maxima instead.

A friend of mine works for Lexus. She has worked there long enough to acquire a free Lexus (through some kind of points system), but she chose to buy a 5th gen Maxima and she loves it. I told her that she needs to come to The Org and join the family.

We all know the Max is a peerless car and what not, but why would you pass on a free car?

I would've kept the Lexus and then purchased a Maxima. So I can switch off and not get bored driving the same car.

Free Lexus?

It must have been a used 1990 es300. Why would anyone pass on a free car?

what an idiot ... i think 100% of us would take the Lexus if given a choice b/w a Nissan & Lexus (obviously model choices impact the dec'n) ... but free? no dec'n 2 b made imho

WTF, and pay twice the insurance money?!

oh yeah, and tell her welcome to the .org
I would definitely take the lexus and trade it for a Max.

I can relate, I guess. If you are around something 24/7 the last thing you want to see is the same thing that you have seen all day hence she made the decesion to get a max. On the otherhand my Aunt was on The Price is Right and won a Chevolet Celebrity which she turn around and sold as soon as she got it, if I didn't want the the Lex Luger I would have sold a couple thousand below market value and made a nice amount of pocketchange. That is just my $.05, does any one have any change so I can the correct amount next time?

I hope she doesn't come on the .org....as much as she's getting dogged on now...I'd hate to see what it's like if she were here. Mayebe it was an old model lex, maybe it was salvaged..maybe it had HIGH miles.. but she made her decision and who are we to knock her on it?

I hope it's not a new Lexus. You have to be crazy to pass up on a new Lexus.

Just because you work for a car company doesn't mean you know a lot about cars. It's possible that she just heard from someone that "Maxima is better than Lexus" and she took it to heart.

I would have taken the Lexus. Yes, it may be an isolated driving experience, but they are wonderful cars...and like everyone else on this post said...it was a FREE car.

lol, I showed my friend this thread (he's not an .org member) and he cracked up.

The facts of refusing a free car over buying a new one. LOL.

Cant you get a free car and buy another one at the same time. Just keep one in the garage to save on insurance. I dunno just a thought.
