2K2 Headlight Install WRITEUP is DONE!!
Finally after making the damn page for more than 3hrs, I got it done, tried to explain the best i could for your wiring challenged people.
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/dsuthar/2k2install.html
There it is, Remember I aint responsible if you blow up your ballast or burn up some $hit.
This is the wiring for where when the High beams are turned ON it will cut OFF your Xenons.
Now ICY2K1 said he got it to work some other way without a relay, once we get his info that will be great, but for now this will help for you other people.

I remember those guys saying they were around 460 with all the goodies to connect. relays and what not. Don't have exact #'s.

Each headlamp assembly is currently going for about I believe $600 a side. This is the last figure i heard. Making that over $1200 for the pair, mighty expensive there.

Another question after I studied your write up. Since the parking lamp gets it power through the HID plug does it share the ground? If so, do the parking lamps go off the the HIDs go off?

I am not expperiencing the same this as Alex. I dont know what this problem he is talking about, I need more info on it.
SIXMAN, when the parking lights are turned on the parking lights come on, and the HIDs are turned on the parking remain on, and when the HIDs are turned off (back to parking) the parking lights remain on.
It is exactly how it should be there, it is sharing the ground, but that is all. When the Highbeams are cut ON, the parking lights do TURN OFF since the ground it shared. If this is what you were talking about then yes.

I don't believe there is ANY way to fix it without SERIOUS work, so you either live with it or run 2-relays like I will be doing hopefully this Saturday.

Its all about preference
what about the warranty?
Won't doing this kind of modification void your warranty on the electrical system??
Did anyone check the 2k2 service manual for the wiring diagram? I would expect this has some very useful information to be used in matching up the HID assembly to the standard wiring.

I think if you use the orange bulb without an orange lens, then i think you would have too much light spreading all over the headlight assembly that might make it look like crap.

That site still up?
I've been timing out getting to the http://www.nrrrd.net/dixit/2k2install.html site. I'd really like to see your write-up.

In the first post, Dixit, you said,"This is the wiring for where when the High beams are turned ON it will cut OFF your Xenons.". I thought you fixed that with the grounding thing where you grounded the lows and highs to different places so that the lows remained on when you turned on the high. I thought that was the preferred method or did I miss something in all the posts.
Sorry if you have already answered the question.
Thanks again guys.

Currently the HI and LO are BOTH on when you hit the HI-beam switch postion and the ALARM no longer flashes the headlamps.

Thanks for clearing that up for me - I should have checked dates before I posted - but every Y2k light post has me concerned!!!
But now I have another question, is the only ALARM flashing fix currently the o2 sensor tapping. If I choose not to do that at this point, there is no alternative fix for that, correct? I'm just trying to understand my options.
Thanks again.

So far, every source I see is in the passenger compartment. Everything is connected to the Smart Entrance Control Unit to keep control once the car is shut down. I'm still looking, but I'd rather run a wire into the passenger compartment and connect to the cigarette lighter than the O2 or MAF or any sensor for that matter.
If your willing to figure out where you can snake a wire through the FIREWALL, I'll give you an "ignition-on" power source.
