hmm

twin turbo 5th Gen?

Ok I finally sold my Stillen S/C. I will be removing it by next week (after I try to break into the 12's Tuesday at Atco). My next project will be a twin turbo kit. I will be using 2 Garrett T3 turbo's off of 2 Saab's I snagged from the junkyard. I just had them both rebuilt. I will be using the stock exhaust manifolds and using custom adapter piping. The Turbo's have internal wastegates and I have threaded the arm's (to adjust boost). I will be using the same starion IC and BOV that I used with the S/C. I will be simply plumbing both turbo's into the IC (ala Supra). Since a supercharger robs about 30% of power output from its belt drive, the turbo setup should in theory make 30% more HP at the same boost setting. With 2 relatively small turbo's lag should be minimal. I have completed most of the welding I need. Hopefully I will have the turbo's dialed in by the end of next week. I have also obtained an aqua mist water injection system I will be using on this project.

Here's a pic of the turbo's I will be using

don't tell me he is running 17 PSI on stock internals..

and running 12.7 on 17 PSI? that doesn't sound right..

Delos runs 13.3 on 6.5 PSI

2.67" is Vortech's smallest... it gives 14 psi's. He has a custom 2.75" which gives 17 psi's.

Yup, stock internals except for a 4mm head gasket.

the 4mm head gasket will lower his compression ratio, but that does not explain how his internals arent jello.

ive looked into it and she has a little more to go...

2.75 pulley and gets 17psi and yet the 2.67 gets 14... hrmmm odd i thought the smaller pulleys give more power

No no no no.... he said his 2.75" gives him 17 psi. I don't know how that works since 2.67" gives 14 psi. 2.75" should give about 13-13.5 psi by my calculations.

He's posted more on his theory of why 17 psi works without strengthening internals: http://www.5thgenmaximas.com/vbb/sho...=&threadid=522

1.)The MSD ignition will not work on our cars, various members called MSD to ask.
2.)The only JWT ECU produced for the Max was a '96 unit, there are none for the 5th gens.
3.)His numbers didn't add up, from his track times to his dyno numbers to his puley sizes.

People are relatively knowledgable about these engines, and trying to pull someones card will get you outeed very quickly.

Overall,

I have to wonder why this wasn't posted in this forum......

Well, I know the answer, but still.......:vampire:

Didn't even have the guts to spew that stuff in my world. How cowardly....

Paul2kGXE,

I would appreciate it if you could privately PM or e-mail me the IP address of this "person"......so I can do some private member checking.....

If you can't, don't sweat it.

I think it's all BS. He's quick to offer pictures of his car and what he's gonna put on, but he's shown no pictures of under the hood nor of the timeslips nor of him at the track. He's pulling 1.8 60 foots which is pretty unbelievable, even with slicks. His trap speeds are only 108mph and that's with his "17 psi". He syas his trap speeds are low because of the small diameter slicks. BS, with 17 psi he'd be well into 112mph range. 1.8 60s would destroy the differential too. He says he finally broke into the 12s a few days ago and he is removing his SC right now as we speak. He says his twin turbo setup will be in by the end of the week. Yeah...okay.

IMO, I think it's MY4DSC (or whatever his name is) playing a dirty trick......and a good one at that. There sure are a lot of gullable people out there

Alot of people may not like adam.. but he is a straight shooter and doesn't have to BS anyone with false stories.. Adam use to own a Turbo Civic that ran faster than any maxima here..

For those who were here a couple years back

When Turbo95Max was posting about his set-up and no one believed him. At that time he wasn't able to post pics as fast as you gugs wanted, so again no one believed him. Fast foward to the present, not only have you guys seen his set-up but we now have other members created/designing a turbo system. Even a few 3rd gen members are at it. Basically give him time, if all his numbers and mod info don't match up who are we to call him a liar

Come to think about it, we were on someone else BBS when Turbo95Max was telling about his set-up.
