I pull up to a light and see this fart can hanging out the back of this Firebird at the light. I am thinking "WTF is this guy thinking?" The light is red and I can see he wants to run cause he keeps creaping up on the line, acting like he was going to stomp me. So I say to the girlfriend in the car with me "watch this ****." I pull the lever to 1st and wait for the light, no power braking. The light turns green he hits it I hit it. I pulled about a 1/4 car immediately which I thought to myself he is an auto. Manually shift at 6k which puts you at 6400k or so when the slushbox actually shifts, I then pull a whole car on him and kept pulling so I let off and he was going to do the FLYBY! I said to the GF "here he comes," I was in the sweet spot to downshift to 2nd and hit it, he pulls up to my door and slowly but surely I pull his *** again and f*cked up his FLYBY attempt. I was laughing my *** off! I then let off and let him do his FLYBY and said to my GF he had better buy the Trans Am next time.

I never thought Firebird's 3.8L is able to keep up w/Maxima..sounds like he was very close to you. There were stories about vs. V8 'Stang..anyone went against TransAM?

Ya actually I did pull pretty bad from him. I pulled a full car right after I hit 2nd, he was strong off the line, remember my car is a GLE which means auto (very slow off the line). After I pulled I immediately shut down at 65 or so and slowed down to 50 then the flyby comes and I had to hit it again and pulled him even though he had a running start.

As far as a Trans Am? Ya I know all about them, the LS1 is one sick puppy and I am currently in the market for one. I was going to SC the max first but the LS1 has got me, I love that '98+ F-Body!

But I keep thinking how nice it would be to suprise the heck out of someone with 300hp+ under the hood of the Max!!
