AutoShop is a tv show here in Toronto on CP24. Callers call the show about their problems and mechanics answer them.

Today's segment was also about used cars. So one guy calls up (he seemed in early 20s) asking them about a '97-'98 Maxima SE 5-spd. He first asks about any differences between 97 and 98 Max SE. The mechanic goes no. Then he asks what those mechanics think about the Max SE. They say its a great car, great engine, and no problems with them. However they said that if you buy the 5-spd, your gonna have trouble selling if later if you choose to cause not many people buy 5-spds in that car catagory. Then the caller goes 'well i'm gonna have tons of fun driving it..and won't sell it for a long time anyway'. I could tell from his voice and excitement within that he was gonna have fun with it. I yelled at the TV, 'Maxima.org Maxima.org' but alas, sound does not go thru the tv and reach the show. This guy was a suitable maxima freak if we gave him time.

Then he asked the dude about 2002 Altimas, and the mechanics said it looked good and should be selling now.

Now the funny part:: This other guy calls up, he's talking about his Camaro IROC Z28 and how it shakes a lot over bumps. That's fine and all..and now the fun stuff. He asks a second option about tranny options. He has a 6-spd and wants to make it stronger or something. The mechanics ask what he wants to do with the car...the guy goes he drag races it. So the mechanics says that you would be better off with an auto...the caller argues saying that you 'get' more power with the 6-spd. The mechanic says you'd get faster times with the auto..then out of nowhere, the caller says 'i run 10s in the 1/4mi'..and the mechanic is like..'uh ok..that's good an all..but be faster with an auto'..and at this point the caller is prolly ****ed..and goes ok thanks and hangs up.

Why was this funny?? Cause this incident reminded me off that mp3 of the guy calling a radio station and talking about how his Camaro outruns cop cars, etc.. and second..if the caller is really running 10s, he would probably know enuff stuff about drag racing to realize that autos would be faster once your in those times because you cannot shift as fast. Second, can you even run 10s in a 5/6-spd?
