ok here's the scoop , the first week of OCT Im to recieve my 2k2 maxima SE with 6spd trans, my buddy at work drives a 2k1 CL type S, and Is always picking on the 190hp max's , he had intake and exhaust system , but I saw him race many 190hp ones and only takes them buy a bumper. He wants to race mine, and I REALLY WANT TO RACE HIS (AFTER ABOUT 4K MILES OF COURSE) I WANT TO PUT THAT CL IN ITS PLACE, PROVE IT CAN AND WILL GET BEAT BY A FULL SIZED 4 DR SEDAN I'll keep ya posted, and when i get enough miles, please, I need tips on racing

 

go for it 02 MAXIMA, and plus i didn't say all stories were bs, you have to admit the ones where they say that they pulled like 5 car lengths or somethin on the MAXIMAS are a lil hard to believe.

 

I don't see how anyone can say that the guy on the tl-s forum was talking smack. It's not like the guy is driving a geo metro.

He said he beat a stock 4th gen 5sp - not hard to believe. Sounds like the max called it off after the guy started pulling in second.

Heck, if he said he beat a stock 5th gen 5spd - still not hard to believe given any number of variables. It can happen you know.

 

Well at least this guy didn't sound cocky like the average CL-S drivers.

 

hmm...my BS detector didn't go off when I read the first post. It sounds like the Maxima guy (was he a 5-spd?) just had a slow 1-2 shift or something. If it was an automagic I'd believe it anyways...

I think he should cool his jets, because he is not going to beat a GS400 with his car unless he starts modding.

I don't think he is BS'ing either 190hp Max vs. 260hp Acura is pretty tough to imagine that he didn't win.

Yea nothing wrong with his post, but 190hp vs. 260hp, come on guys, thats a world of difference, of course the CL type S is gonna win, heck I've driven my friend's alot, beat lots of people, but even the 222hp maxima has a disadvantage over the CL's HP, but the 2k2 is a different story, 5 less HP, but more torque, (232tq I believe, vs. 246tq); and the CL is heavier weighing in just a bit over 3500lbs vs. the SE maxima's 3224 lbs.

 

I thought he meant a 5th gen 5spd/. Sorry guys.
