Someone want to fill me in on the benefits of Clearence Rewire???

Thanks in advance...I keep seeing this in sigs, and in posts, but I am wondering why you do it? I assume perhaps to match the lighting with your headlights, but I'm not positive, I know with my Philips Bluevisions, the clearance lights look almost orange next to them.

I did it strictly for cosmetics. You are pushing more watts out, so it is brighter. But I don't think most people rewire for increased lighting.

I did it first of all because it looks better. Then I drove at night and loved the extra light. Here is a good pic of before and after:

I am not sure about this but don't your lights come on brighter when you turn your blinker on? Or was that 95 only? The earlier Maximas did that but it annoyed people so they took it off the later ones. I am not sure when or if you can do the rewire if your lights go on brighter with the blinkers.

I would think you could just drop some foil under your bulbs so both points make contact all the time
That's all I did for my 97'. I swapped my 7.5 fuse with a 10amp and it has worked fine, though this is not recommended.
I love it. You see so much better; It's almost like having extra headlights angled to the side of the road.
Good luck

Yeah, on the 96 the lights come on with your blinkers, also.

Yeah, I tried the foil under the bulb trick, but i kept blowing fuses. I'll try a 10A today, hopefully I don't start a fire
