My 4th gen is stock, I just ran a 14.872@92.68

My engine is stock. My mods are listed below. I was NOT running on my 17's however, i was running on a set of MSW 6 spokes which have some no-name tires on them called Chargers, sized 205-65-15, running between 21 and 23 psi on various runs. They have 400 treadwear, which means they are about as hard and sticky as a HOCKEY PUCK, and their traction rating is B. Conditions were 76 degrees, and very high humidity. The fog was unreal this morning, I almost died on the way out to the track.

RUN Run 1 Run 2 Run 3 Run 4
Launch 2.5D 3.0S 3.0DS 3.0D
RT .921 .933 .820 .874
60' 2.267 2.342 2.258 2.209
330 6.287 6.323 6.308 6.232
1/8 9.625 9.645 9.657 9.570
MPH 73.74 74.19 73.47 73.26
1000 12.499 12.503 12.524 12.432
1/4 14.949 14.928 14.978 14.872
MPH 92.45 93.58 92.23 92.68
I'm convinced i can pull a 14.80 or maybe a 14.75 in this car tommorrow. I only got 5 runs today, thats 5 runs total EVER for me in a maxima. I'm still working out where the HECK to shift this thing, as you can see my best ET had a trap about 1mph slower than my fastest trap. I also want to try leaving it in 3rd instead of shifting to 4th, and I want to try all my shifts without lifting the throttle, and see what that does. I met both Josh (maxdrvr847) and Steve (SteveChicagoSC) today for the first time. They have seen my car, and have seen that it is indeed stock (engine, not suspension) no OSCAI or any funny business. And they've seen the timeslips.

Oh crap... I didn't realize that my nice neat little columns that I TYPED all my times in would not show up that way when i posted the message... sorry. I can post the timeslips if people wish to see them, but unless there is a demand for them, I'm not going to take the time to scan and attach all 4.

LOL Yeah I know my RTs suck... Thats mission 1 for tomorrow... I'll need them to drastically improve in order to stand any chance of advancing in the brackets.

Good Job!

ITS ALL IN THE FIRST 60'...
as long as the rest of the trip is smooth...

I ran 14.82 stock and it was with a 2.20 60' as well...
I think that 60' is about the absolute best you can get in a stock Maxima on regular street tires...
So don't expect your ET to improve much as your car is now...

catback = not stock anymore..

anyway... adam is right.. who cars about reaction time... its not going to make your ET higher or lower.. reaction time is only for bracket racing... hey adam.. the big boys run 2.0 and 2.1

hehe... another me... those are impressive times for no intake exhaust or y-pipe or anything power related... but i think you're about as good as you will get. i've always thought that a stock maxima with no mods could pull a 14.8 and I'm happy to see somebody do it.

Those 14.8s are with 85-90% humidity, 75 degrees and 700ft MSL...with better conditions and sticky tires..I'd put money on him hitting low 14.7s.

I forgot to mention one thing... my rear bank oxygen sensor is shot, would that make my car run rich or lean or neither?

usually rich, but your other 2 are probably compensating for it. The system is designed so if there is a failure then it will run rich to avoid detonation. Paying for new plugs is much better than new valves

Yeah I should get some new plugs too... god knows if these have ever been changed. I've had the car for 20K miles and never even looked at them. who knows if the previous owner did. O2 sensor, my other CE codes, and plugs are this week's project.

Absolutely nothing at the track. At WOT, the O2 sensors aren't used by the ECU. The ECU goes into a predetermined program.

Dave, thanks for that info. I thought I had heard something along those lines. It's called Open-Loop mode, correct?

Yep.

I'd get the O2 sensor replaced simply because you don't want to foul your cat or smell raw fuel in the morning. Of course when you get the Y-pipe, you'll get to smell raw fuel on startup

MY 4DRSC when were you shifting at? You said you had to figure out when to do so, I am just curious. I have not raced mine enough yet to know where is optimal so I was curious in finding out when others though they found it at.
