Those of you with odd fitting Y pipes, what did you do?
Those of you with odd fitting Y pipes, what did you do?
I'm having an issue with my Y pipe right now. It was rebuilt from its flex section being fixed. Unforunately, now the flange that goes to the cat is not rotated right. If you are looking from the rear to the front of the car, it is rotated perhaps 10-15 degrees counter clockwise. Not only is this causing the right cat hanger to be very stretched, its also causing my entire exhaust system from the cat back to be crooked. Becuase its rotated counter clockwise, and the muffler is on the right, my muffler now is contacting my bumper cover. I realllllly dont want to send the thing back to arizona to get fixed, so I'm most likely going to just have a local shop rotate the flange and pay them to do it. What did you all do for your mis fitting Y pipes?

That's a new one to me. I would suggest doing what you already plan to. A muffler shop should be able to take care of it for you. What kind of pipe is it?

Went to Meineke to put my Cattman on. They said one of the two flanges up front was mal-rotated. They had to weld it back on after rotating it. Was disappointed with that. TIG welds aren't any good if they must be redone...

Send it back because if you alter it and anything else fails on it your SOL!

I guess I'll have to see about this one, cause I already voided the weld guarentee when I header wrapped the Y pipe. But the thing is I really dont want to send it way back to Arizona and go thruogh the shipping costs, time, etc and possiblity of it not being right again.
