umm??????you dont take out your windows for tinting bro, just drop off your car and they tint the windows with them on the car. who told you that the windows have to come off to tint?? i work at a shop for about a year now and we do tinting and everytime its done with the windows on the car.

Take out the windows for tint? are you going to take out the rear window, too?

4 real, you don't take out the windows for simple tinting job! If you want a clean job then you may take out the door panels but that's about it.
Fairly easy to do by yourself but tinting rear in one piece is pretty tircky!
Good luck!!

I've had 3 cars tinted and *NEVER* seen them take the windows out. I think it's way more trouble than it's worth compared to just leaving them on the car, and I'll bet if you try to take out the back window, you'll **** up the trim and the defogger.

Good luck though, idiot.

Really, why the name calling, the dude obviously hasnt tinted windows before. I thought this was a place you could ask questions and get good straight answers/opinions and a few jokes.

For the record, the tint that I use, the instructions say to remove the windows and it is definitly far easier when the stuff will stick to itself and become useless. But maybe you guys use different stuff. Let us know if you do.

Ditto Justmax! It's like taking out the whole engine for an oil change.
Not worth it and not required !!

naw man.. you dont have to take out the windows to tint. You just cut the patern on like waxpaper or something flimsy that you can get a good stencil on. When you are at the bottom part of the window stencil, you want to add about an extra half inch... just pull back the rubber gasket (at the bottom of the window) when you are hard carding the wet film onto the window. Its really easy. The hard part is going to be putting tint onto the back window. Very few people can one-piece a back window. Most places use two pieces of film that overlap one another. If you already have tint on there you want taken off, i would recommend taking it somewhere to have it professionally removed. You really dont wanna mess up the defogger. You will need a heat lamp, but most likely you will not have a lamp hot enough. Be carefull not to leave the lamp in one place for too long (if you do have one) because you might burn the interior. And dont forget.. you dont wanna roll down the windows for at least a week. There will be bubble spots on the windows, but they will dissappear after a few weeks ...once everything has completely dried.

Honestly, its worth the money to have this professionally done, but be careful if you are gonna do it yourself.

Best of luck to you man!
