Exhaust damaging bumper

Well I've had my apex ws exhaust on for about a month or so and because the tip is recessed in from the bumper, the exhaust has discolored the paint. I was just wondering what others do to combat this?

wrap

maybe some of that high temperature wrap that people use for headers? although this would make your exhaust tip look bad...

take the stuff vin just mentionned and place it above the exhaust, on the bumper?

I saw some guy do that in my area.

any exhaust shop can put an extension on your exhaust after your cat or before your muffler for around $50

Maybe use a longer hanger so it is not up close against the bumper?

actually i remember looking through an old car magazine and this rx7 had a similar problem, he had a small metal heat shield built into the bumper's curve, it looked sweet and worked too
