Water wetter, anyone have experience with it?

Just wondering if this stuff is worth it? From what I understand it is a surfactant? How can you tell if its working? What does antifreeze look like if its added? Does it have an oily characteristic? Any info appreciated.

worth it...well if your car runs fine w/o it...it wouldn't hurt to use it..but don't expect it to go down that much in temp in a street car. it kinda turns to pink..but once it mixes w/ the coolant you don't see a difference. no "oil" in there that i can see. it's suppose to help transfer of heat from the metal to the coolant. if u run straight water it works best...but that's not good on a street car.

i use water wetter in my max, mixed with coolant. don't really notice any changes but it's relatively inexpensive so even if it don't work it's not that big of a deal.

You may want to taker a look at Royal Purple "Purple Ice"{PI}, it is advertised to be superior to Water wetter{WW}.

I have WW in my 95 max & I have PI in my I30.

I used it in my old Integra, but not sure if it did anything. I think you would have to have a really accurate water temp gauge, with similiar conditions to tell the difference. The stuff's cheap though, go for it, I noticed no ill effects after 40,000 miles...

I've been running for 15K with no adverse effects. Agreed that it makes the biggest difference on water based race cars. Heck, even it it drops the temp 1-3deg why not. I trust Redline products.

I run it in my C5... nice product, but probably only useful if you are running a lower temperature termostat.... other wise your vechicle will heat up to its appropriate level (192 degrees for the C5).
