there is a white nut just behind the housing. you can turn that to lower the lights. use the search and you can find more detailed instructions from kev.

if you are talking about the pass side light don't worry about reaming if its a little higher. i think it is the beam pattern designed by nissan. if you check my homepage you can see the pics of the lights against my garage door. on there you can see a "spike" that shoots up on the edge of the beam pattern.

hope this helps

I'm assuming that you're talking about your '01 20AE? The headlight pattern is intentionally not symmetrical. It is pretty close to the European pattern, which throws light up to the right to illuminate road signs but is cut off at horizontal for light to the left to keep from blinding oncoming drivers. Aim them against your garage door and use the horizontal cutoff of the beam as your reference. You might actually find that staggering the lights (right side aimed a tiny bit higher than the left) gives slightly better overall lighting. One of the small sockets in a metric 1/4" drive set will fit the adjustment nut. And you can also adjust the fog lights to make them more useful and not just for show. BTW, as delivered from the dealership, headlights and foglights are typically aimed too low unless you always drive around with the car fully loaded. So take this opportunity to aim the headlights and foglights to suit the passenger and cargo load that the car usually carries. Aiming the foglights higher will fill in where the low beams miss when they are brought up a little.

The car is under warantee - take it to the dealer, they can verify if it is out and fix it right for free.

No-brainer

That's also a virtual guarantee that for the condition of driver only or driver + passenger + light/medium luggage the low beams WON'T illuminate the road more than about 100 feet ahead of you and that they WILL waste light on that part of the road that's so close to the car than you can't even see it because it's below the hood line.

Fewer people gripe about headlights if they would aim them to put the available light where it will actually do some good. Warning lights are for road hazards and radio towers.

Just remove the splash guards below and turn the white **** on the fog light housing with a Phillips screwdriver to adjust the beam height...

See here for general aiming guidelines:

Thats great dude---but if you are going to aim them at something you should do it on level ground and at least 15-20 away from it---there is a circle in the middle of the light housing--you should measure from that dot to the ground. and then go to the garage or wall or whatever you use--and use the reading you got to be in the middle of the beam--thats how we do it at the dealer
