Cleaning Carpets...any good suggestions?

I want to clean my carpets...and clean em good. Actually, the carpets in my 93gxe look new, but in my dads InifinityJ30, they look..less...less than new. I need some industrial strength carper restorer...any ideas? What about those things you can rent a the groc store? Any good?

Any chemicals I can buy at the autoparts joint?

I'd love to hear any ideas.

Thanks,
Matt

CLR...Seriously? that stuff you see on TV?? Squirt it on and the stains disappear? Sounds (and looks) too good to be true.

This stuff really works?

Simple Green....works great.
Take a brush to the carpet after and gets the stains out.
Only thing, the car smells like a pine forest after that!

I have a small carpet cleaner call "Little Green Machine" made by Bissel. Like you describe only small. Has like a 4" wide nozzle. My wife bought it to clean up after our cat that likes to eat grass and barf on the carpet. Works great on the car carpets, seats too.

Here's another vote for Simple Green. Real cheap at Costco.

I use Eimann Fabik's Carpet Cleaner and Stain Remover. Both work very well. But mine are so darn dirty that I would need a steam cleaner in conjunction with them.

I used Simple Green and I have a small steam cleaning machine I used. You could rent a Rug Doctor like Nick Stam said, mine came pretty dang clean like this.
