Anyone with Stillen body kit! (fisheyes?)

Has anyone had a problem with painting the kit? My kit was currently painted, along with the whole car. The kit has some fish eye on the ends. The shop say's that it would have to be sanded/filled/re-painted, or just take it the way it is for nothing! It looks real well, except the slight voids on the ends. have you had this problem?

I donno Dan... but when I had my Stillen front spoiler painted earlier this summer, didn't have any problems like those you are encountering. The Stillen bodykit is made of urethane so all the bodyshop needed to do was put flex additive into the paint. Other than test fitment, no other prep was needed before the paint job. When I got into the accident: jumped a curb w/ the front lip, the paint held very well... didn't crack or chip.

the stillen instructions instructs the body shop to scuff down the urethane piece so the paint can stick. they must do this prior to painting. also if there are any burrs that need to be scraped of it must be done prior to painting.

fish eye is generally related to lack of prep prior to painting. wax or oils on the pieces will cause fisheye...paint not sticking correctly.

Dan- Gotta take it back to the shop and have them redo the job. You shouldn't have fisheyes

Thank you all! I will have to talk to the body shop. There is some areas on the ends that have fish eyes. This guy says their little poors and the kit would have to be stripped/filled/painted for (obviously) more $$$ or not have anymore work done to this for nothing. The shop just painted the whole car and painted the kit as a courtesy. The paint looks very nice, on both. Except for the fishes!

I saw my car today and it looks nice. You'll see it at the N.Y. max meet. The body shop is also re-painting the kit!
