Ok, i have followed most of the threads on this issue. But previous threads have not completely described the success story regarding grounding the ground wire of the headlight closeby to the frame and thereby avoiding having to purchase a higher wattage harness so that one could use 80watt/100watt bulbs. I used to have them in my car, but of course, the passenger side ground portion of the plastic harness melted. I know KCTYPHOON had suggested grounding close to the frame while still using the stock harness, yet nobody else has tried this and posted whether or not it worked for them. Updates?

 

Wasting your time, you will see lil to no difference in light output, and stock wattage is what it is for a reason, save your $.......

 

you're definately right. but thing is, i took out those 80/100 bulbs before summer (when i found out harness was melting yet still operational) and returned the stock ones. NOw those bulbs are just laying around, and instead of spending another 50-80 on some harness which probably may still melt, i thought grounding the stock wire to the frame would solve it without spending much more money. ideas?

 

weellllllll if ya put it that way, seeing that you will have to replace the harness anyways mabye you could try it out with the high watt bulbs and see what kind of results you get, if it does not work go with stock wattage.......

 

btw, dont you get tickets for those DARK tints? just wonderin...

 

Well its only 5% so its not as bad as some, i have yet to get in trouble but im in FL and everyone has dark tint.........

 

Isn't 5% tint very dark? That means only 5% available light goes through tint, doesn't it? Mines 35% and sometimes difficult to see at night

 

yea well its pretty dark although some have 2.5%

 

i have seen the 2.5% ULTRA limo black tint. that would be unacceptable to put on your back windows (all three)...it would be so stupid to do that...and the person woudl regret that when backing out of a completely dark driveway...i even have trouble seeing thru my clear windows when backing out of a dark driveway.

 

I also get this prob my wire harness always melt if you guys think grounding the ground wire to the body would help then i'll try doing this if you guys get anymore answers p.m me or replay to this post thanks
