. . .it's the damn trunk lock. Mine always gets loose after a while. I have to un-screw the lock and tighten it down. I cna even see other Maximas on the street. If their tailights aren't lined up, I can tell their going thru the trunk rattles too. anyone have suggestions for a more permanent fix to this minor peeve??

The problem is that the trunk lock is secured by screws which are at right angles to the forces applied to them. The trunk lock moves up and down, but the screws are screwed in from back to front. You would see what I mean if you look at your trunk lock. What I did before was use some of putty solder stuff (forgot its name, its the stuff that lets you solder a connection without using a solder, in the form of a gray putty substance), put it on the threads, and tighten up. It would last about 6 months, then the trunk would be loose again I was hoping there'd be a more permanent fix out there.

That's what you get for having relatives who REALLY can pack a suitcase

Since we're talking about trunks.....

I seriously hate the location of the trunk release on the door. The darn thing is so easy to push in. On numerous occasions, I've reached down with my left arm into the door storage area and thunk, the trunk pops open. Then I have to get out and close it usually at a traffic light or in the drive thru. Maybe it's just me.

My trunk blew completely open one time when I first got my latest stereo setup and hadn't learned when loud was too loud .. I haven't done that in a long time since one of my subs is blown and the other is on it's last legs with a torn surround.

My car got wrecked the other month and I had the entire trunk replaced and I haven't had time to blow it open with a new set of subs then. Just get some bozo to plow into your car when it's parked for $7k worth of damage, and boom, all your trunk woes will be over. Kinda . Mine was crooked for the months prior to that, I never really found a good solution nor figured out how to adjust it enough so that I could get it to line up correctly. I think that's what you'd need to do though, mess with the screws on the trunk latch to adjust it so it fits good.

Strange...I have a 10" and 12" woofers, with a total of 900 watts going to them, and no rattle....at least not anything one would care about.

My dash rattles alot more than my trunk..

But I have a GXE...heh

No, no, no. The worse design in how the Parking Break handle is pointed. I'm 6'5". That's the only thing that needs to be changed. Could it be bent inwards?

Yeah, the emergency brake handle is rather intrusive. I miss the way my 3rd gen's e-brake handle sat in the middle of the console; out of the way. the trunk latch sometimes gets hit whan I get out of the car. Kind of annoying.

I like where they put the trunk release. It's better then accords, the have the same lever to do both the trunk release and the gas cover release, you gotta pull it up for the trunk and push it down for the gas cover lid. Or was it the opposite way around?

Speaking of poor disign, I would like to know who designed the cup holder that can't hold anything on a slight turn. Its impossible to get coffee and make it home with out spilling half the cup someplace.
