oxygen sensors

couple of questions:

anyone know the difference between a front heated O2 sensor and a rear heated O2 sensor relative to price of part and installation from a dealer?

is there a difference between O2 sensors with P/N 22690-40U16 and 22690-40U05?

I ask because in '99 the dealer dinged me $152 to install U05 and yesterday the same dealer dinged me $290 to install U16. The parts have the same description and cost about the same - $89, so I attribute the difference to labor costs. In '99, time to install was 1 hour at $63. This time it was approx. 3 hours at $70/hour = 200.

Are they really two different parts for two different spots on the car or did I get taken?

thx -

All 3 O2 sensors are slightly different. Mostly the length of the connector. The price on both the fronts s/b about the same... I paid about $125 for both total. The front (rear bank) sensor is hard to install... I watch my mechanic put it in... Front bank and rear O2 are pretty easy (you can do it yourself pretty easily.

Good luck.

Probably labor. The rears have always been 50% more $.

I think Nissan changed all their O2 p/n recently. I bought all 3 for my '97 and the U05 became U06. The U15 became U16. Rear# I got was 226A00L701 - don't know the previous p/n

Paid $71 for fronts, $119 for rear. 10% less through
