sorry another front end noise problem

Front passenger side. As soon as I let off the gas I hear a clunking sound. Step on the gas and it goes away. I even hear the clunking during manual shifting with clutch pedal in and off the gas. At first I thought it was wheel bearing but there is absolutely no vibration. Yanking the steering wheel doesn't seem to do anything either.
Any suggestions what to look for?

I've got the wheel removed, there is no play at the wheel bearing. I have only been able to find 2 things which may be the problem.

The front sway bar is able to slide back and forth about 2 or 3mm. Should it be tight in the bushings?

How much play should there be at the strut bearing? If I reach up there and yank on the shock it does move back and forth a mil or 2. FSM is no help as there is no spec for axial play.

Sounds like a motor mount. Think about it, when you step on the gas the motor is moving and will jerk or shift a bit, same things happens when you let off the gas. The mount should do a better job holding it in place.

It may be just one bad motor mount.

ok, we were both wrong turns out it was the bearing on the front passenger wheel. Which doesn't make any sense at all. I couldn't hear the squeaking of the bearing until a few days ago when it got really cold and rained. SO I got a new bearing and went to the dealership today. I mentioned the bearing was gone, and asked them to investigate the motor mounts and why was the y-pipe banging on the cross member. They told me it was the diamter of the "aftermarket exhaust" . SO i drive home with the new hub and bearing installed and the y-pipe is no longer hitting the crossmember...
