help. any throttle and car stalls
couple days ago driving home in stop and go traffic i would come to a stop and the car (99' GLE) would stall over and over. after i got home the car stalls and now i cant even force the damn thing to drive. anyhow the car will start and idle, if i hit the gas at all the car stalls, if i push the gas slowly i can get it up to about 2500-3000rpm .if i put it in gear it will die out also. i figured it was the MAF since this would be the third one i have replaced but i went to the yard and got one and still have the problem. also replaced the fuel filter. i need to fix this fast, any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sure does sound like the maf to me, are you getting any codes? 3 mafs something is going on, maybe it's because there from the junkyard, or maybe there is another issue going on..... extremely over-oiled filter, problems in the harness or connector, bad ecu (HIGHLY unlikely). check reference voltage etc per fsm. Also, I've seen this a few times, not on a max though and the intake duct is really sturdy, but if any of the rubber intake tube collapses it can close off and kill the engine when any throttle is applied. Could have a mouse nest as well.
After you check all of those things next in line would be checking vacuum and fuel pressure.

i just put in the 3rd MAF in 4 years. its a common problem i guess. could it be the TPS? lets rule out the MAF for the minute, what else could it be?
Definetly not the tps. It wouldnt give you a problem like that. To me it sounds exactly like what the maf does. the car can keep itself at idle with a dead maf, but once the iacv is closed and the throttle is applied. you engine dies.
It might also be your FPR, or fuel pump, however, highly unlikely. but it sounds like it either has to be a sensor somewhere on the air intake system, or a component on the fuel system, how ever fuel problems down tent to yeild that kind of behaviour.

I told you what else it COULD be, and how to start checking for those things, but maf gets my vote, obdII scanner and/or multimeter and http://www.vq35de.com/ESM/Nissan/Maxima/ (aka, the fsm)
