Headlight Housing Question
Headlight Housing Question
I own a 1998 SE and it seems that at one time, before I purchased my car the right headlight may have exploded.
What I have now is broken glass, and a haze around the reflective portion inside the housing.
Is there any way of openning and cleaning/polishing the inside of the housing without running the risk of moisture getting inside, or am I looking at buying a new housing.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Headlight Housing Question
You can clean the inside of the housing with soap and water. Let it dry completely. If you want to buy one, they are about $100 for the reflector type.

I have the same problem on the max I just got. I was looking at it today and it looks like there are shiny metal clips holding the clear lens to the backing housing. I didn't have time to take it apart, I rewired my blinkers and fogs instead, but if I do it this weekend I will post here how it went and what you need to do.

I was thinking of removing the bulb and trying to vacuum the glass out. But as far as the haze around the reflective part, not sure what I could do.
Good luck taking your's apart, and let us know how it turns out.
