please help my car.. FEELS SLUGGISH..!! Daniel B. maybe??

98 GLE Auto - 42,000 miles
Running synthetic oil and "supreme" gasoline
Stillen Intake, Ypipe, Magnaflow Exhaust

Tonight on my way back from the gym, i got on JTB, a highway in north florida, and was cruising at 65-70... a friend of mine pulled up next to me and he took off so i put it down to keep up.. only until 80 when i let the car slow back down..

I exit the highway and come to a stop.. when i go to pull away my gas pedal is halfway down and i am barely moving.. I take the immediate left into my apartment complex and I barely have the power to get over speed bumps.. I came to a stop at a stoplight and shut the car off for a few seconds.. and turned it back on..

Same problem.. i was at a small straight away when i floored it to see if i had any power and it felt like the car was stuck in the 3rd of 4th gear out of my 4. I put the car in 1 from a stop and it felt no different..

Checked my oil and smelled around the car, nothing out of the ordinary.. Could it be bad gas or my tranny giving out??

thanks

When my tranny went out, my car was VERY sluggish. I would put the pedal down all the way, and I could be doing 75, and the car would have NEVER shift. Good thing it was under warranty

sounds like your tanny, try and get it up to like 30mph, then manually shift the tanny to "1", if the RPM doesn't go up and u don't feel the tranmission shifting then your u got tanny problem.

If you were running with almost no tranny fluid.....I'd DEFINITELY get your tranny looked at. You could have done some SERIOUS damage to that sucker. Besides..you're still under the powertrain warranty.

Don't want to state the overly obvious, but please check the rest of your fluids.

your radiator has a built in transmission cooler, if it gets clogged or restricted that can starve out you transmission causing this possible failure that's why it is a great investment to purchase an external transmission cooler, 1: transmission runs cooler and lessens the chance of transmission failing due to the radiater/transmission cooler.
