My wife backed into a parking garage barrier arm (don't ask) and bent the antenna forward, cracking it. Eventually the antenna got weaker until I had to pull it off (pulled the entire mast off along with the entire nylon-tooth cable). The problem is there is still a piece of the last mast section inside the hole that won't pull out. I tried removing the bezel nut and going after it w/ needle-nose pliers but there isn't enough to really grab. Going back to the garage to look at it from inside the trunk but thought I'd post this first.

 

OK fixed - got just enough contact w/ the needlenose to grab a bit of it and then constant twisting motion finally freed it (wouldn't pull straight up at all). Leaving the post here in case someone else has a similar issue - there was about 5" of the bottom section in there.
