Whats considered a full caliper?

As most of you know I wanted to do the 350z front brake upgrade but only recevied what I thought was part of the caliper. I was misssing the slider part that holds the pads and attaches itself to everthing. The credit card company wanted me to get somebody from a pats store to verify that it was indeed a half caliper. One store wouldnt do it and one guy said when you buy a caliper you only get the piston part and the slider would be extra. Well I told the company that I needed everything as it was going on something different. I dont think Ill have a problem getting my money back but just wanted to know what a full caliper consist of?

Are you talking about the base 350 calipers or the stock Brembos?

well....technically no, since that's not "technically" a caliper, it's a bracket.

In fact, IIRC when I redid my rears it was just the caliper itself (piston part) and I re-used the mounting bracked.

Might i ask why you're putting the base 350 calipers on your car? doesn't seem like much of an upgrade for all the trouble. Could just go with a6th gen or Q45 setup..

Didnt know about that upgrade and what it entials. The 350z I was told bolts right up and is 2 piston compared to stock single. Also the rotors are still 12.6" but a little thick. Figure it was cheap and yet still yield something. I already have cross drilled/slotted rotors with SS lines and motul 600 alll the way through. What calipers should I get at this point and not kill the bank. I know where another set of 350z 2006 full caliper with slider and everything is for $200 plus shipping. You do realize I am a 2007 right? With the rear 350z I atleast got a beefier caliper with bigger piston area. I also did cross drilled/ slotted with SS lines there. So show me the light and tell me what caliper to get as Ill probably have to sell my sole to get it. Or atleast my surround sound system I dont use anymore.

sorry, I had 5th gen forum open in another window...

I just don't know that the 350z calipers will be much of an upgrade in terms of performance....

I would save your money a bit longer and spend some more for a basic BBK....

this one is a good choice (in fact, I'll be installing it with 6th gen rotors on my car on Monday):

Think about it this way - by the time you buy the 350z calipers, pads, hardware, lines, (rotors?) you'll be spending that much anyways. The fastbrakes kit includes everything you need (including Hawk HPS pads)
