Could you post a pic of your kit? Are the bulbs not fitting into the housings or is the kit not lighting up?

are those rings around the base removeable? Looking at an old 9004 hid kit I have those rings shouldn't be there.

it has to be the size..must be 9004 because i still have my 97 and the installation only lasted 5 min and it was a perfect fitment.

whats up man, i just put the same exact brand and size (9004) in my max yesterday,9-24-07...anyway what i had to do was widen the top slice in the plastic. when you the light with the bulb facing you and that blue stip on the bottom, u have to cut and widen the top slice in the plastic to make it wider to the right (when looking at it) in your headlight housing you will have 3 nipples, the new HID bulbs look the same as OEM but the cuts are a little off.....trust me, i put mine in but now i think i need to AIM mine lower or get projectors cause some people flash me....If this is a little confusing for you to read

it's an Omen, its your car telling you to get projectors

Seriously thou check the rebased buld vs the stock 9004 and make adustments /w razor

Also: You may need to rotate them, ie the blue return wire my sit to the right/left not down.

on my old kit that was the case

DO NOT CUT RING

I had a 9004 HID kit once on stock 95-96 headlights.. if they are the proper ones ( 9004), they fit, you just have to push hard, the rubber ring will eventually "squish" to allow you to push the bulb in enough to screw the OEM bulb holder in place( the plastic ring)..

and when I am referring to "rubber ring", look at the pic below.. the red ring around the base of the bulb, that will "give in" after a few hard pushes.. and when you lock the plastic OEM ring to lock the bulb in place, well, the rubber ring you've squished to fit the bulb provides you an air tight / water proof seal...

do NOT cut it off or modify it..

get a set of calipers and check the diameter. i recently did an install where the hid bulbs were 1mm or so bigger. took a dremel and shaved it down a bit.
