LOL!!!!

Remember me? I'm the guy from that GTP vs. Maxima SC thread a little while back. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....5&pagenumber=1

Well guys, my friendly Nissan representative came to the dealership today. Here is what he had to say about the next generation Maxima;

It will have 280HP. It will be front wheel drive. It will use the 3.5 liter V6...well, some version of it at least. It will be bigger and better and all of that stuff.....

No, it won't be RWD and no it won't have 340HP.

Now, here is what else he told me. The new Z will use the same engine rated at the same power. Somewhere down the line, they will offer a supercharged version of the engine for the Z.
This is good news for the next gen Max owners because you should be able to apply the parts and changes to your cars. It was too far into the future to get any numbers though, but I would think that 340 would still be pushing it a little even for a SC 3.5, although it isn't out of the realm of possibility from the factory at least.
Nissan is building a full size pickup with a V8. Nissan is building a Honda CRV sized SUV.

And for the guy who said that GM shoved the 3.8 into ALL of it's cars; let's see 1.Pathfinder, 2.Altima, 3.Maxima, 4.Next Gen Maxima, and 5.Z, 6+. not to mention the Infinity versions.

Just wanted to let you know what he told me.

Hehe. No rumors here. Unless the Nissan representative, a Nissan employee complete with company car (3.5 Altima auto, BTW) whose sole job is to make sure that our Nissan dealership is up to date with Nissan information and product knowledge, could be lying.

from what I've experienced...future Nissan automobiles are never produced to what they're speculated to be beforehand thats all

(i.e. 2K2 260-270 but it ended up being 255....and ALOT of people said this one was going to be RWD)

True about the 3.8 in everything like nissans 3.5........but surely you aren't saying 3.5 and gm3.8 are equal in any way...except they both run on gas

If they made a 340 hp RWD version of the maxima....it would probably tip the scale at just under 4000 lbs....making it no faster than the new Q45. A supercharged 4th or 5th gen would toast it. Especially one with a midget in the engine bay
