tachometer 400+ bucks!

my tach in the 95 has decided to sometimes read rpms and sometimes not.
so I check online and it is 400 bucks plus for this part WTH!. are they nuts!

hell when my speedo took a crap 2 years ago it was 150 bucks and that included the mileage transfer. all I need is a working tach!

anyone out there know of a cheaper tac option for factory? or do i just need to re-solder the guages. ??

Have you tried tightening up the TAM screw?

Look on the back of the cluster, there's a screw labeled TAM. That's for the tach signal.

PM rockfordfanatica if tightening the TAM screw doesn't work ... he'll do you a lot better than $400 ... I promise! If not ... then just get an aftermarket.

www.google.com ... or www.ebay.com .... try there maybe. it's a generic tach from the looks of it, but it could be a ProComp or HKS or any of them.
