My wheels make the car shake, could it be because...

So I use to have some aftermarket wheels that were making my car shake and vibrate real bad at speeds above 50 mph as if they need to be balanced. It turns out that the wheels were not true and were slightly bent causing the shaking. So I just bought some new wheels, the nissan wheels off of the 350z and I used the tires from the old bent wheels and mounted those onto the new rims. The shaking is much much better now but I still get some. My question is, could the tires be warped or messed up now or have improper wear since they were being used on bent rims? Is using these same tires on my new wheels a good reason why I am still getting a slight amount of shaking in the car?

Are the wheels hub-centric? If not, did you install hub centering rings?

I have had extensive experience with the shaking and your ruleouts from easiest to pain in the *** are:
alignment check, balance and rotate, tires, bad rotor at disc, bad rotor at hub, warped hub
If it is a shimmy (not vibration) check your steering fraction and get it tightened.
If it is not any of these you are the unluckiest person ever.
Good luck

I have used hubcentric rings with my last set of rims and they did absolutely nothing to fix the shaking issue. What exactly is a shimmy? Is it the steering wheel moving side to side a very small amount? If so, then yes this is one of my issues. This never happened when I had the original stock rims that came with the car. Now I have nissan OEM rims again but the ones off the 350z 35th anniversary edition and I am seeing this shimmy and shaking

Hey Mack, did you install hub centric rings with your 350z wheels?

so does anyone think my tires may be warped or something due to them being used on bent rims for a while?

Killah - It is very possible that using those tires on bent rims may have caused uneven wear. I know running tires out-of-balance or out-of-alignment certainly causes uneven wear.

The 'dreaded shimmy' for which early 6th gens were known is indeed reflected in a side-to-side motion of the steering wheel.

As your car did not shimmy when stock, the problem almost has to be due to a wheel/tire/balance/alignmnent situation (i.e., not your steering rack).
