fuel economy went south

fuel economy went south

latly im barely getting 350 to the tank when 2-3 months ago i was getting 420-440. I hvae changed my sparks and fuel filter. I have an EGR code. Can the egr lower my fuel economy that much??? somtimes i get as low as 300 ona tank.

Did you make sure you install and tighten everything up right when you did the maintenance?

ya everything is tight ( also ran injector cleaner.

Check your air filters.
Dirty air filters can cause a major cutdown on MPGs.
My friend experienced a serious drop in his gas milage, and when he checked his filters he found, no joke, a pigeon.

nah my air filter is only 3 months old its clean.

Assuming it doesn't have a hidden knock sensor code, yeah, egr could cause fuel efficiency issues, more so if it's a high flow malfunction I think, I dunno, I don't really feel like thinking about it to much right now, but def. clean ur guide toob

Mine always goes to hell this time of year or if I steer away from Shell.
