Been driving w/ blown struts & shocks… will it damage my max in any way?

Well, my max has 110K and I’ve been driving my max with blown struts & shocks.
Obviously, my handling suffers and I feel huge jolt on every potholes in my city.
Will this blown struts & shock damage my max’s suspension?
Any cheap & firm struts recommendations?
My local shop quoted me $650 front & back with Monroe brand, but I really don’t trust that brand.

If I sit in my car while parked and tap the steering wheel with my knee the entire car will shake!

I tried to go cheap but after Sears quoted me at $900+ I decided to do it myself; It wasn't long before cheap went out the window and I ended up ordering koni yellows with H&R springs for $735.

After reading through thirty or so automotive forums I would say that the KRB gr2's are your best bet for decent quality, stiffness ( a little more than stock) and price ($200-300) so long as you're riding stock springs. I'm going to pick up a set for my wifes Camry.

I'm running on the factory installed struts still (98 SE) at 137k, I'll let you know if I find any damage when I replace them this weekend.

sears quoting $900, how ignorant do you have to be to take that

whatever happened to getting illuminas for 408 shipped from performancepeddler.com and then giving someone in the org 100 bucks to install it? With powertools, I think even I can install it in less than an hour and I've only seen it done a few times. 3 nuts on top front, 1 large bolt bottom. two small top bolts on top in the rear, and one large bolt in bottom of rear. so simpo

you might also want the spring compressors, brake line detachment, lower 2 bolts in front (strut to spindle), top strut nut, correct alignment of the top "triangle" (yes there's only one way to insert it, it's a PITA until you figure it out), correct torquing all around... it's not a total piece of cake, but it's not really hard.

You won't hurt anything driving on blown struts, as long as they aren't leaking fluid out of the cylinder.

If they are really bad, then be careful since it can adversely affect your braking.

I would think that if you drive very long on blown struts, that you could compress your springs or even break them. And of course it can't be good on tire wear.

Struts don't support weight at all. The springs carry the full weight of the car at all times, so it won't make any difference.
