MEVI, JWT feels slow

Just to start off this is based off of butt dynoing....

I have a 95 auto with I/Y/E MEVI and 7200 JWT, and lightweight 15lbs wheels....

In the last couple of days it seems like I am missing some power down low....not the midrange, and it seems to take FOREVER for the gears to go all the way through....

and my 0-60 using a stop watch is in the mid 7s....that doenst make sense to me since that is what the max does stock.....

I replaced the KS last year...also my only codes are p0600 which I cant get rid of, p0720 replaced it and still get it, and p0400 EGR flow malfunction...

any other ideas???? or am I just to damn picky....

Bring it to a dyno place, they'll tell you what's up

OBDII logs. Even though the ECU is ub3r slow, you cans till see what your parameters are. In which case will show a problem.

Well, it's hard to draw conclusions/make assumptions without having any real tools. Where's your IAT?

My IAT is sitting right below my filter....Ill admit I was to lazy to really make a hole in the filter for it....

I forgot about that damn little bugger though....

I think I know what you are going through. The same thing happened to me a couple weeks after I had the JWT ECU.

OBD II scan revealed DTC sensor / something like that. I could totally feel the power loss that this caused. Took the Sensor off, cleaned it off and tested it which revealed it was crapped out.

Replaced it and look at my times now... beautiful. Hope you figure it out.

Yeap that was it for me. Have you had a chance to run the scanner yet? It could be a number of things.

Heh i get the P0600, i figure it has something to do with the JWT ECU. I havent noticed it yet, i still dont have the top end i should, stupid leaking vacuum canister, but mid-low range power seems normal. I think i will check my CPS too.

Do any of you guys with the JWT ECU notice your check engine light intermittently come on and off? Like i got the P0136 but sometimes my CEL comes on and sometimes it doesnt evne come on. Doesnt really bother me, i wish my airbag light stopped coming on too lol..

I have a 97 Maxima with a 96 JWT ECU. No check engine lights which is weird because everyone says that it should throw one. Other than that first incident I haven't had anything else happen with the ECU.

NMex said I needed to datalog....so I did....The first thing I noticed after a couple minute drive was that my IAT was at about 120 degrees and would spike near 130ish. That was with the IAT just sitting in the engine bay. So I took the filter off and decided to stick the the IAT into the filter and close it back up....My engine was cold when I went back out to play with the OBDII again....This time the IAT was at 89 degrees to start....also after a 40ish min drive I get home and the IAT is only at 105....Throughout the drive It spiked at 113 for about a minute after a LONG WOT run....

I also had the same gawd damn codes as before....

One thing that was weird or If I am just but on my WOT runs my TPS was only at 90%. Is that all the throttle opens up or huh....

low end loss is expected with MEVI. DE-K swap is a better option for city drivers

some low end isnt lost with the MEVI...its midrange where the loss takes place....doesnt really matter since I have a JWT...well did...but EU is oh so close...

Even though the FSM states that, whenever my IAT gets unmounted from my filter area (falls down) The car feels horrifically slow, and throttle response is .

I will be the 1st to call on the FSM.

Well the MEVI is made to increase the high end....so yea....the midrange loss is estimated at about 12ish wtq....that is basically moved to over 5xxx...

Ok so my theory has miraculously boomeranged back into the picture....I also did some logging on my moms 05 Camry and the numbers were pretty much the same....the IAT did go up to like 142 during a car wash though...

Lowering my IAT did have a pretty significant boost in overall power and throttle response....Also decided to clean the throttle body today...It did help but only slightly....probally since the MEVI is only a couple months old, it is still pretty inside....
