well technically, that was just a magnaflow from a muffler shop. I still want to get a dynomax to see if it's any quieter than the magnaflow was.

1 really should have had it's own category don't you think?

Mines only 1, plus some fresh parts straight out of the factory of course

Probably not for cars this old. Now that I think about it, I shoud've had 0, then 1-5, 6-10, etc.

We can say that we try to take good care of our cars here, but most people here arent original owners so I would expect a lot to be swapped in as it starts to break. Someone even has 20+

Do mods count?

I have lots of those that came from other cars, including my steering wheel that came from a 240sx.

Otherwise, just the stock car, plus a few parts from assorted minor accidents, like new tail lights when my neighbor backed into it at about 1 mph.

Wait -- I do have a transmission from MrGone's black car and an engine from Japan...durr, I guess that makes three.

As far as I know, mine is completely original except for parts replaced with new parts from Nissan or other parts place.

My Triumph, on the other hand...

You blasphemed God and the Org, thats like double illegal dude. Read the rules that you had to agree on upon joining the board and you'll find out when you'll be allowed. As a matter of fact I believe it says it on your homepage.

It was a she(go figure) and she was driving (backing) her husband's Dodge diesel 4x4 with a canopy on it. I was standing right there when it happened. She didn't realize that she even hit it and didn't even hear me yelling at her as she drove off down the street.

She has also scraped another vehicle with their Acura RL.

I voted for 0-5 but I actually don't know. Now that I think about its closer to 15.

Random parts from my other two maximas (seats, floor mats, random interior pieces, 5speed swap) and lots of parts from the junkyard, window regulator, ~10 master switches (looking for a perfect one) and random stuff I cant think of now. But man now that I think of it theres quite a bit....

How many miles are on your engine (which apparently is original)? Amazing you shredded three slushboxes already. And why 5speed ECU I thought it didn't matter a whole lot..

Lots...at least 4 cars sourced SOME of my 5-speed swap parts (most were new), I've got brakes from a Q45, extra window switches, MAFs, and a new front bumper...not yet installed.

Everything else I have bought new.

Yeah... your input shaft and 1st gear is seeing daily abuse now. the synchros and other gears in mine looked a little better, so I just filed the burrs off the synchros and etc and put it back together using your shaft and 1st gear.

I'm about to tear down the VLSD and refill it with a thicker fluid for more locking force--- a trick I learned from a buddy that used to race for Datsun/BRE back in the day... trying to figure out exactly what fluid to use before I tear it down tho.

Well,my current trans is quickly going south.

The isb grind is heard easily in 1st/2nd gear, and i believe the 3rd gear syncro is also out(grinds 3rd every time i quick shift into it )

I found a used tranny in a semi-local yard for $350,so i may just swap um out.

the engine isn't the original one. i swapped my old engine into my old '89 SE 5-speed cuz it snapped the crankshaft snout off. my old engine had about 280k miles on it and it was still running like a champ after i swapped it into my old '89. of course i did do the t/b, w/p, thermostat, front main seal and cam seals, practically the works before i finally sold it to a buddy of mine. my current engine has 124k miles. bought it back in '05 with 105k miles on it and did the same to that engine by replacing all the maintenance parts before dropping it into my '93. yeah, i bought the car back in '99 and it already got a used tranny, then in '03 the tranny blows while drivin' back down to miami which i had about 90 miles left to get there. then in '04 it blows again and got it replaced by another auto tranny and then like 4 months later that one blows and stays in neutral. then i just started looking for a 5-speed tranny and hasn't given me any problems since then but got a spare 5-speed just in case. i ended up getting the 5-speed ECU thinking it was needed but apparently during the swap i completely forgot to install it when done and then found out i didn't need it either way. wow, i have done alot

I can pull the 3rd gear synchro off this one if you want..
for the ISB problem, pull the tranny out and replace the bearings before it gets any worse and starts taking the case and gears with it. fix it now and it'll cost $100. fix it later and it'll cost you a LOT more (i.e. damaged gears are $150 each...)

Well matt,I'm pretty sure the trans has been messed with before(orange sealer around the casing) so who ever opened it up may have messed up something regarding the synchro..(It has grinded into 3rd since i installed it a 2 years ago)

Not to mention i cant have too much down time if i run into problems.(my D/D)

The used trans i found has only 125k on it,so i hope it will be in better shape then this 280k unit i have currently.I may crack this one open after i install the other unit and see what is going on,so hold on to that synchro..
