Blinking Air Bag Light

I was driving the other day and the car died in second gear. I pulled over and restarted the car without issue but the air bag light started flashing. It has been flashing since. I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem and what can be done to fix it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

or carefully aim a bb pistol at the bulb, and pull the trigger. This is a better solution for those who are not comfortable removing dash components.

sounds like an electrical issue. Have you figured out why the car died? Bad ground or something??

I would take it to your local nissan dealership, iirc the air bag and seatbelts are lifetime warranty items because they are safety devices..

tried the easy fix with pressing the door switch 7 times but it didn't work. It seems to be putting out some kind of code before it was flashing on-off regularly, after I tried this solution it gives a code of on (for about 5 seconds) then off, then 2 short blinks. It does this untill I try to do the reset - pressing the door switch 7 times, then goes back to blinking on-off regularly.

Does anybody know anything about this? Is it a code or just f_cked up?

any info would be great

Try disconnecting the battery terminals for about 15 minutes, reconnect, see if light comes back.

By resetting the ecu and airbag system via disconnecting the battery cables,he will be able to find out if it was just freak anomaly,or a real existing problem.

Its gonna be more than that green man, 24 hours with battery disconnected according to FSM, IIRC.

that 10 minutes is to dissipate the residual charge that would let the airbag deploy in yo' face

Hence the airbag computer thingy no longer has power= a reset.

Edit:I just read through the airbag section of the fsm again and found nothing stating a 24 hour wait time to clear the airbag system,Can anyone point me to this secret information?

toronto, bit of a hike from chicago -lol

I think I am just going to take the light out of the dash. I called the dealership and they wanted $85 to do diagnostics, tried pulling the fuse for it and the light stopped blinking but remained on constantly.

Oh well it doesn't take too long to get it out of the dash.

Thanks to everyone
