12 second 6th Gen Max!

Yes thats right a 12 second full trim heavy *** 6th gen broke into the 12's this weekend here at my local track. He's on the org as Kevin007. He barely posts but he practically lives at the track. I dont have the video of him breaking 12's but I do have his 13.0 from the day before. I'm sure he'll be at the track friday so I may go and get him on tape. He's defiantly a very good drag racer. His mods are as followed.

Nitto 555R Drag radials 245/45/17
Fujita Cold Air Intake
Greddy SP2 Catback exhaust
KintexRacing Upper Intake Manifold
Technosquare ECU Flash with timing retarded for Nitrous
Zex Wet Kit with a 75shot of Nit
Cattman Downpipe

Heres the link to his cardomain.
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2618056

Here are the timeslips.

13.0 Run video from the night before.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cQr-bc9wzA

Just for comparison check out what the 350Z's are running with a larger shot. http://www.my350z.com/forum/showpost...97&postcount=4

Maxima's FTW once again!

Yeah they weigh a lot, but what can you do? A pretty good accomplishment, no headers yet either.

Yup, Kevin007 has posted a few details in our Nitrous forum. Pretty impressive car - and intake manifold!

Here's a link to the thread: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....32#post6005532

He seems to know his racing..

I'm impressed! Of course that doesn't take much for a racing geek like me.

^^ I have been seeing a lot of fast autos... does anybody know which is stronger a 4th gen mt or a 5.5gen auto? They have the 3.5 so they should be really strong with a tranny cooler. I feel like shi* when my mt doesn't go in gear....

Thanks AJ for the post and everyone for the props and thanks to grey99max and has his reply to my post I probably would still be at 13.1 as he suggested to close my spark plug gap in which I did and I increased my tire pressure from 16 to 20 PSI and I ran two 13.1's and then three 13.0's in a row on friday and on Saturday I finally cracked the 12's. The wealth of information on this forum is great, I,m looking for the low 12's next race season. Do you think I can get there by adding headers, cams and Greddy E-Manage?

Nice runs, man. No headers yet?

I'd say headers, cams, and a good person to tune the EU and you should be able to drop a bit.

Too bad Merlyn and I didn't get a run against you last Friday up at Capitol (damn weak axle), didn't even ask if you were on the org either, must've forgotten.

May have to come up on Friday to watch your Max go 12's again...and if ajcool doesn't, I can bring a cam and get your runs filmed (maybe for the price of admission into Capitol ).

The 5.5 gen auto is the same auto that's in the 5th gen and 4th gen, ironically enough (and 3rd gen I think?).

Man you get to the track early (car #5)!! What drag radials are you running? Those are really good 60's for DR's on a FWD at your power levels. How much does your car weigh/what have you done for weight reduction? Did putting more tire pressure in increase your trap speeds? That's a really good ET for your trap. Congrats!

Using nitto 555R drag radials on 245/45/17 1 inch shorter in diameter= better lowend torque off the line. Going up 20PSI made me hook better off the line my car weighs 3660. for reduction I removed the spare, subbox and amp the rims I have are lighter than the stock rims by 7lbs each. I,m also puttung down about 320 to the wheels. Check out this horsepower calculater.

Very very nice performance man!! Do those tires require a burn out? btw, AWESOME 60'!!

also as far as your plans to improve with headers, cams and emanage. I think headers would be the MOST noticeable difference, cams depends on which ones u go with. as for the emanage, i really dong know if you will benefit from it, being nitrous powered, usually you want to retard timing with nitrous rather than advance timing which is what most emanage 3.5 guys do. you cant take advantage of the 2step either since your auto, only thing i see you taking advantage of is just only the ability to tune your a/f, but thats about it.

edit: forgot to mention. AUTOS FTW!!!!! LOL.
i just noticed I have the same trap speeds as you in the 1/4 and almost 1/8(i do 82mph), mine weighs 3337 with me in it. I cant wait to go back to the track and represent for the autos!! (12's ftw)

I have a 5speed Auto. With you having 299whp & 291 torque you should be running better 60'times you must on street tires?

My mods are listed on cardomain:

Well i havent tried slicks in the 1/4 track yet, but i havnt been succesful with the slicks at the 1/8th track, always get 2.0. Do you launch from idle? or do you break torque it? this was with me spraying 35shot off the line.

I think Ramberg is around the 280whp mark with Nitrous...

...and Chern...give him a couple of months, and kevin007 will look as if he were stock! (no offense kevin, but I think you know what I'm referring to when I talk about chern )

I think you 6th gen guys need to start stepping up your game lol. This is a great example of what 6th gens can do, and now that they came out with a turbo setup for 3.5 altimas/maximas, it should be interesting. i see in the future, 4th gens vs. 6 gens lol.

PrjctMax, until that time comes why even talk about it and besides who's car is getting turboed ? Not yours. So are you a National Spokesman for them or something? Did you read the thread it said 12 second 6th gen Maxima not who's Maxima is faster or will be or may be in a few months. Stop trying to start something and stop hating on this thread and taking the glory out of someone else's project that they are working on. When they have finished their project let them address it not you( no offense PrjtMax, let Chern talk not you, it is his car). You posted something on the 6thgen. thread about this in which I ignored. Give it a rest, before they decide to close my thread. Can you do that?

12.1 IIRC, but yes. I think we need to step up our game too. But, it seems as if the NA theory has just taken over. And a lot of people are just sorta 'stuck' in the 13's. Not that that is a bad thing, but seems as if we cannot get past that threshold. If Dandy can dive into the 12's w/ his NA 3L, then there's no reason for us to NOT be able to better that.

SR20DEN has been in hiding since his record has not come close to being broken. I know once it gets close then he will step up his game. and when I say his record, I mean an A33B chassis in the 12's NA.

Yeah its kinda funny how the record for an n/a 3.0 and n/a 3.5 is the same.

I may step up to the 100-125 shot next race season. My plans for next season are Walbro 255PSI fuel pump, AFPR, fuel rails and injectors, transmission cooler, headers, cams and greddy ultimate e-manage. If my money is right then I will do a 4.3 stroker kit, plus a 150-200 shot of Nitrous with a progressive controller.

1.87 60' on drag radials! That's pretty impressive! That's not an easy thing to do. Definitely some good driving!
