New sound! - BBK related.

YAY!!! I am hearing a new sound that seems to be related to my Z32/Cobra BBK. I had the setup installed and properly functioning on my 99 max for most of this summer. I am using Jeff's hubcentric rings and caliper relocation brackets, as well as Ford Motorsport 13" Cobra rotors.

Ok, the new sound I'm hearing is towards the end of my stops. I can either slowly brake toward a stop sign or apply harsher pressure for an emergency stop. I'm getting the noise regardless. The best way I can describe my new problematic noise is a single 'bang' (metal on metal) which only (almost always) happens about 80% into my braking - before the complete stop. I checked and double checked as everything is completely tight. Also I made sure numerous times that my hubcentric rings are fully seated into the rotor's rear face & my rotors are flush with the hub. Lugs are tightened to spec. The noise is absolutely audible and can be felt from inside the cabin even on a rainy day with all of the windows up.

Has ANYONE ever experienced anything like this? Any recommendations or suggestions are welcome as well as appreciated.

are you positive it is brake-related? It could just be something else that bangs when the car is pitching forward or weight-shifting.

1. if brakes, check to make sure the calipers are secured/tight to the spindles/brackets.
2. if brakes are ok, perhaps....motor mounts?

Funny you mentioned the mounts Irish....as the motor mounts were my fisrt suspected culprit. Checked out to be fine. I'm riding on brand new Tein coilovers, so those are ok. Brakes are tighter then a prude virgin Amish dame. For some reason now I'm gonna check the SS brake lines as they were professionally Helicoiled into the back of the calipers.
