Holty's new best time
I know most of you won't care since its not a maxima, but my truck is running very well now since i got it back up and running. If anyone is interested, here is a link to a thread on another forum where i wrecked it and then did a complete frame up rebuild. http://www.pittspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34724
This is the first time at the track since the rebuild.

Also, here is a picture of my truck as it sits now, please enjoy and give feedback, good or bad.

Holty thats a bloody awesome ute dude ! ha ! man everyone has their own taste ! for me personally if this were my truck i would sale those beautiful mags (and stock pile the money) and go all out with an agressive race look. With the Volk TE37 Time Attacks. not everyones cup of tea but it sure is mine !
im serious ! lol ! i cant even begin to imagine how much lighter they would be as well, seriously lowering you 1/4 mile times, compared to what you have on the chevy now. unless you are using somethin else at the track.

but yeah if i bought your truck this is the only change i would make ! LOL !

Hey thanks for all the comments guys, good and bad are appreciated. I have to say though, the wheels are much better in person, that picture does them no justice at all. Here is another picture that may show them at a better angle, please post your thoughts.

Here is a link to all the current mods:

Here is a video of the truck last year before the latest round of mods only running a 12.5

this guy is correct, its a LS1 derivitive truck motor with iron block called by GM an LQ9, 10:1 compression, 6.0L. this was the first time out since my rebuild of the entire truck including new frame, i have alot of tuning yet to do. this thing will be in the 11's no problem in the spring. plus i will be running a 100 shot on it.

yes in other words a Chevy owner may object to having Japanese wheels on an American muscle machine. Holty is running Italian rubber though so he may not mind? lol
Im like that with the maxima though, as much as I can I keep it japanese ! If I have a c5corvette one day, I would try to keep it USA only !
i have mixed feelings, if i couldnt find a Made in USA wheel that was light, I probably would. Those rims probably weigh 40 lbs each, imagine dropping 20 lbs each per wheel. whats that like .8 off your 1/4 mile times ? (joking)
still though your bloody fast with huge wheels and what did you say 5400 lbs without driver ? and your truck looks real good so .... KEEP ON TRUCKIN !

hey thanks for the reply, i still confused though, how are they Japenese wheels? if you say they are, thats cool, i really don't know, but they are chip foose wheels made by MHT. so what is Jap about them? please forgive my ignorance. oh, and btw, rims and tires together weigh 85lbs a piece.

he was saying the black volks are japanese wheels - but I think his point was that they belong on import type vehicles in his opinion. Usually I'd agree, but I think that photoshop looks awesome. They DO make them in a 6 lug pattern but I bet they're incredibly rare and it'd take forever to get some, cost extra for custom coloring, and cost a bunch too. Those Foose wheels can't be cheap either though.
Personally I don't dig anything chrome typically - but more than that I don't like the shape of that wheel at all. It just looks like a snowflake to me - too intricate. I like wheels that are simpler.
Black wheels on that truck would look badass.

Nice timeslip and nice looking truck. I've seen one around here running 11.7 or so IIRC, they do move pretty good for what they weigh especially.
I'm kinda lukewarm on the rims too though, they're not horrible, just maybe don't quite "suit" as well, for my taste anyway.
