Is it safe to wire the stock speakers to an amp?
My dad took out his subs from his car ... .and gave it to me... they are old... but still better than nothing...
but his door speakers were also aftermarket... so he had an 4 channel amp powering them that was attached to the sub enclosure...
i wanna know... if if its safe to disconnect the bose amp in the trunk... and wire the stock door speakers to this amp... im not sure how many watts they are or anything....

Because they are matched to the original amps that were there. Changing to an aftermarket amp won't really work well unless the amp is 1 ohm stable in stereo. The bose speakers are proprietary to work only with the bose amps.
ummm, what hes tryin to say for us stupid people is that each individual bose speaker is amped allready so you cant add another amp. you can add a aftermarket head unit but its a pain and i just chose to re-up the whole setup, ie., new hu, new speakers, new amp, and a sub.
